Ross Cowie

Ross, 1964 (son of Margaret Nelson Cowie Dolan)

Ross, the youngest of the Cowies, always played goalie for his three brothers in sports. Growing up, Ross played hockey, baseball, lacrosse and golf but was especially good in lacrosse. He continued with lacrosse as he grew older and went on to play professionally in the National Lacrosse League. Ross traveled throughout the eastern U.S.A. with the Buffalo Bandits, Syracuse Smash and Ottawa Rebels for nine years. He is the recipient of three World Championship rings.

Ross received his B.A. from Brock University in 1986. Following graduation, he worked in Hamilton for eight years as a Youth Instructor at Lyndwood Hall, a child and family centre. He returned to Brock University in 1994 to receive his Bachelor of Education. He returned to Peterborough and is now teaching with the Peterborough Catholic District School Board.

Ross continues to play hockey, golf, and baseball. He married Karen Crosier in 1998. They live in Peterborough. Karen is also a teacher and they are both now teaching in Port Hope.  Ross and Karen have one child:
