Gordon Turnbull

Gordon Harvard Turnbull, 1938 (son of Bertha and John Turnbull)

Gord is a Professional Engineer, Mechanical who has been working for the last 26 years with Ontario Hydro (now Ontario Power Generation). Since joining O.H. he has been working in the Pickering Nuclear Division as a Designer of Instrumentation and Control systems, as a Commissioning Engineer, as a Systems Engineer and is currently working in the Plant Design Department as an Assistant to the Manager in Procurement Engineering. Gord is a die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf hockey fan. He also curls in the top division in the winter, plays golf a couple of times a week and fishes when time permits in the summer.

Gordon and Joann Valerie Dow Turnbull 1940, have four children:

1. Linda Pearl Wilson, 1960. Besides being a single mother, Linda looks after a house in Scarborough and owns and runs a commercial renovation company called West Rouge Interiors. Both Linda and her son, Andrew are Toronto Maple Leaf hockey fans. She married Kenneth Arnold Wilson (deceased 1997) and they had two children:

2. Catherine Gail, 1965. She married Albert (Al) Martin William Budd, 1966. Catherine is a computer systems analyst for Canadian Pacific and Al owns and operates Wait’s Bathroom Plus Ltd. in Newmarket, Ontario. He specializes in bathroom renovations and has two crews working full time completing installations. Al and Catherine both like to golf when time permits. They have one daughter:

3. Derek Gordon, 1969, graduated from Ryerson University in Business. His first job was as a Surveillance Officer with the Toronto Stock Exchange. After getting several years experience in the regulatory end of stock trading he moved to a new job as a Professional Trader with a stock brokerage company. He married Michelle Lynn Oney, 1970. They have two children:

4. Graham John, 1970, studied for a Business degree at Brock University before heading off to the west ending up in Penrith, Australia. He met and married Wendy Dive of Australia. He and Wendy own and operate Mountain Leaf Screening. Wendy does most of the selling and Graham does the installations, books, etc. Graham changed from a hockey player to a cricket lover and now plays twice a week, great exercise that keeps him slim and trim. Al and Catherine Budd tape the Toronto Maple Leaf hockey games and mail the winning games to Graham. He has a room set aside as a Maple Leaf room and is collecting all kinds of mementos; a signed Leaf shirt; Domi’s old skates, etc.
